How can we improve our English knowledge on our own?

Hi!

How are you dear friends?

One of our dear friends on this website asked (HOW to Learn English by Yourself? ) in forum and I wrote these phrases to help him/her out, I think they can be useful for others too, so I decided to put it here for all. Hope it works.

1. If you want something a lot, you will do your effort to catch it, and you can do it easily.

2. Practicing, is the main thing in any educational process.

3. Being honest with yourself, is the other important thing, (you don’t want learn it, just to pass your exams, so you have to learn it deeply and in proper way).

4. Learning step by step, is the other rule (we can’t learn a huge amount of it, in just one hour or something).

5. Try to divide the lessons to some short parts, and learn one part of it perfectly, each time.

6. Try to learn the vocabularies among the sentences, not individual words, the way that (ebaby) uses in their lessons is that I mean.

7. Try to write or make some sentences, like what you have learned on the paper or in your mind.

8. Don’t worry about the mistakes, all people do some mistakes, the important thing is doing mistakes, will help you to learn and remember them much better than before, (we have a proverb in my language which says: losing is the first step of a victory.)

9. If you want to attend to an international university, you have to improve your speaking skill, as you know it is the hardest part of those four skills which are (reading, writing, listening, and speaking) and it is the final aim of learning English or any other languages. Try to find some English native speakers and talk to them (voice chat), don’t afraid of doing any mistake. If you don’t do that, you can’t learn it at all. There are many students who have passed the exams to attend to some famous universities, but they can’t speak English at all, so they have to spend at least one or more years to learn speaking skill.

10. There are many websites, movies, cartoons, tapes, mp3s, and especially low level short stories to help you out and you can do your education based on them. They can make you familiar with English because you don’t live in an English speaking country, and you can see you are improving in English, time to time.

These things which I said, are my own experiences in my life, and they were so useful for me, it’s better to know one of the English professors in American universities in the U.S.A, said to me “your mark in writing is (A+++)” after that, I tried to improve my conversational skills and American accent through voice chat, and now, I can speak it fluently. Of course the reason which I said that is to make you more confident, to do your best on your own and I am sure, you can improve your English, step by step.

And the last thing is, I am learning English so far, and I don’t believe that what I know is enough. I have many mistakes and am correcting them one by one, (I like to know my mistakes and someone / some ones who mention them or correct my wrong sentences, would be my best friends).

… My English isn’t perfect yet …

Have a nice time

Regards

Sina

Hi!

How are you dear Ryo?

Thanks for your comment here.

I have found out your English isn’t bad even it is look like native speakers’ writing but full of mistakes and wrong sentences, and I think you write it in that way to show, it is not a good Enough. So let me say it bothers the readers and they have to think more and more to find it out. Hope you use proper English in future. Of course if it makes you to be happy keep writing in that way.

lol

Have a nice time.

Dear Ryo!

Most of the people on this website are learning it and in learning process you have to obey the rules to learn it in proper way, if there isn’t any rules you can’t learn it at all. So to making it to be worst, they have to break those rules and it is a process after learning them. In fact all beginners like me, have many mistakes automatically and they don’t need to learn the ways to making it the worst.

Dear Ryo !

Sure, I got the most of it, but I still have some problems with your sentences.

I think you write your sentences in hurry, so some letters and words  will be eliminated and the meaning of your sentences will change and most of the beginners, like me will have some problems with them to understand. I think the best sentence would be the most simple sentence which can transmit the meaning so easy. I mean no need to use some tough vocabularies to say a sentence which can say it with the simple words.

I don’t know, who you are talking about, hope I am not one of them. I am at the first step of learning English yet.

Daer Ryo!

I have answered your question which was ( i    Suggeste    you and  some  freinds    here  why dont  make      thread  about    HOw to  devlolpe  our  english   to  worse ?), and you can read my answer again.

I am not here to make fun with your sentences and something; I said I can’t understand most of them.

And you didn’t ask me to help you out with that, therefore I didn’t  give you tips or… because I think you know English but maybe you don’t want to write your sentences in proper way, in this case how can I say with that?

My tips were and still are my experiences to learn English in my life and I wrote them here for all, and they may useful for others too.

Dear Ryo!

I didn’t say you are an English native speaker, I said” Even your English is look like native speakers” my reason is: your sentences show you know English, and many high level vocabularies, and the mistakes which you have done aren’t like a nonnative speaker mistakes. As you know I don’t know you so much but if a native speaker wants to write some wrong sentences, it is harder for him / her than a beginner to write some correct sentences. And the mistakes of a native speaker are unnatural and so shiny. And understanding of their sentences are harder than a beginner who tries to write a correct sentence. Because the first one tries to show he/she doesn’t know it, and the second one tries to show he/she knows it. Any way you can think it was and still is a compliment from me not a bad thing.

Sure I have talked to many people but sometimes I can’t understand some sentences and it may because, my English isn’t perfect. And I have said it many times.

It is not bad thing that I can’t understand some sentences from someone/some ones. There are many people who may understand them. So don’t worry about it.
