#258 Hypnosis Scene (Office Space)

Instructions:  Listen to the youtube video above and fill in the blanks below (or write your answers on a piece of paper). Beginners can use the list of missing words and phrases, but advanced students should try to fill in the blanks just by listening to the video (without looking at the list of missing words and phrases).  The answers are given at the end of the lesson.

Main Features:  There are three main features in this video.  1) The word "today" can sound like either "taday" or "daday".  It appears 3 times in this video.  2) The word "of" often sounds like "uh", that is, the "v" sound often disappears before a consonant.  You'll hear the phrases "sort of" ("sort uh", which is often written "sorta" in texting) and "of my life" ("uh my life")3) The phrase "I want you to" sounds like "I want cha da".  You'll hear this phrase 4 times in this video.

Missing Words and Phrases (12):  About your [about cher]; beginning to [beginning da]; he [ee]; of my life [uh my life]; sort of [sorta]; today [taday or daday] (3 times); want you to [want cha da] (4 times).

So I was sitting in my cubicle [1] _____ and I realized, ever since I started working, um, every single day __________  has been worse than the day before it.  So that means that every single day that you see me that's on the worst day of my life.
What about _____?  Is _____ the worst day of your life?
Wow, that's messed up.
{The woman glares at him.}
I'm sorry.  Go on.
Is there any way that you could _______ just zonk me out [2] so that, like, I, I don't know that I'm at work in here?  Could I come home and think that I've been fishing all day or something?
That's really not what I do, Peter.  Heh.  However, the good news is I think I can help you.  I ___________ do something for me, Peter.  I ___________ try and relax.  I ___________ relax every muscle in your body beginning with your toes to your fingertips.  Now I ___________ relax your legs.  You're ____________ feel your eyelids getting heavy as you slip deeper and deeper into a state of complete relaxation.  All your cares and concerns are disappearing.  Deeper and deeper.  Way down.  Your concern __________ job melts away.  Way, way down.  Mm.
{1:45 Dr. Swanson starts having some physical difficulty.}
Now when I count backwards from three you'll be in a state of complete relaxation.  Your worries, cares, and inhibitions will be gone and you will remain in that state until I snap my fingers.  Three -- deeper and deeper.  Way, way down.  Two -- deeper and deeper.  Wuh, wuh, way down. Wuh, wuh, one.
{He falls down.}
Ugh!  Oh my God, Dr. Swanson!  Ew!  Ew!  Is _____ breathing?
Call 911!
{Peter is still hypnotized.}
